How much does installation cost?

Installation is included in the prices indicated on this site and in the quotation of your specific Chorus furniture system.

We will also charge a delivery Mileage Supplement to cover the return distance costs for our team to travel to your location and back. We charge 48p per mile (incl. VAT) from our Bristol workshop. An installation in Sheffield, 180 miles away, for example, would incur a mileage supplement of 360 miles (return) x 48p = £172. The mileage supplement will be indicated on your quotation.

Can I install Chorus record storage furniture myself?

We must complete the first installation of Chorus Walls and Islands and our guarantee is based on this. We ensure perfect alignment of the base and perfect operation of the extending shelves. More importantly however, we ensure that the furniture is properly anchored to the wall or floor. Installation is included in the price.

Can the Chorus Wall or Island tip over?

No, because we anchor Chorus Walls to your wall and single-sided Islands to your floor. The anchoring system requires that we drill into your walls, wall frames and/or floors in multiple places. We make it very safe but this doesn’t mean your kids should use Chorus as a climbing frame!

How long does an installation take?

We allocate approximately half-a-day for every 8-columns of Chorus Wall or Island vinyl storage furniture. These timings can change if there are specific issues with your floors or wall. We’ll make a truer assessment with you during the quote-to-order process.

For large vinyl library installations, we’ll work with you on a more comprehensive installation plan. We’re likely to need a few days.

Do I need to be home when you install?

Yes please! Here’s what we need:

  • Access on the date and time we agreed

  • Approval to plug into a power socket and use some of your electricity

  • A sign off from you when we have completed the installation. We want to be sure you’re happy with everything

Do I need to remove furniture or take carpets away from the wall?

Yes please.

  • Furniture: Whether freestanding or fixed, furniture should be moved from the installation site in advance of our arrival. (We may be able to help you with this if you tell us in advance exactly what needs to be moved. We may charge you extra for this but only with your prior agreement)

  • Carpet: The base frames for Chorus Wall and Island must rest directly on a solid floor so we need the carpet rolled back or cut

    • For Chorus Wall – You can remove carpet yourself (including any carpet grippers and underlay) or you can ask us to quote on doing this for you. We don’t put the carpets back however

    • For Chorus Island – The very best way is to make a cut-out in the carpet and underlay prior to us arriving (probably best you engage a carpet fitter to do this). We’ll provide the cut-out dimensions well in advance and then you work with your carpet fitter on the location of the Island in the room. The cut-out dimensions we provide will be 50mm smaller than the actual required space to allow for proper refitting and trimming after installation. Again, you’ll need a carpet fitter to carry out the refitting

Will there be a gap between the plinth/fascia and my floor?

No floor is perfectly level, so there may be small gaps wherever the floor waves down. We don’t custom-trim the plinth fascia to account for wonky floors.

Can you remove existing static shelving from my wall?

Yes, we can take your old shelving down and, if you wish, recycle as much of it as possible through our local recycling centre. We will estimate the cost of removal in advance based on some questions we’ll ask you. If, when we come to remove old shelves (and install your Chorus vinyl storage furniture), we encounter any issues, we’ll advise you about any extra time and possible costs. You should note that we don’t do any repairs or decoration to the wall behind your old shelves unless you have specifically asked us to do this. This may not be an issue for you if the new Chorus Wall covers the entire area of the old shelves.

If I move home, can I take Chorus with me?

Yes. Chorus Wall and Island record storage furniture can be easily disassembled. It requires two people, one screwdriver, a rubber mallet and about 15 minutes per column. We provide disassembly instructions on completion of your installation. By the way, if you want a permanent installation, we can do that too using traditional joinery techniques.

Can you reinstall the furniture in my new home?

Yes. We offer a reinstallation service which also includes an option to service your shelf slide mechanisms at the same time. We guarantee the reinstallation. Alternatively, you can use your own tradesperson to reinstall your Chorus vinyl storage furniture, but we don’t provide a guarantee, nor assume liability for the product or reinstallation.
